Two Rowan Radio programs have won Hermes Creative Awards in the organization’s 14thannual competition.

Flip The Script Revisited, a documentary on the media’s portrayal of the LGBTQ+ community, received a Platinum Award during this spring’s competition in the Audio/Radio Program category. This is the second award for the piece, which also won first place in the Society of Professional Journalists Region 1 competition for Best Radio Feature in February.

Produced by Mandi Devers, Flip The Script Revisited was created in collaboration with Rowan University’s Radio Production course instructed by Rowan Radio Assistant Station Manager Leo Kirschner.

The Rowan Report, a weekly news show recapping the week’s top stories, earned a Gold Award in the Audio/Radio Program category. Rylee Meyer and Katie Francis, who co-produced the show, worked with the rest of the Rowan Radio News Department to create the award-winning program.

The Rowan Report was also honored by the Broadcast Education Association in February. The show finished in second place for Best Newscast during the Festival of Media Arts competition.

Administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, the annual Hermes Awards recognize creative excellence across a broad spectrum including college students, individuals, media, and Fortune 500 companies.

Rowan Radio has won 322 regional and national awards since 1993.
