Route 322 to close for Rowan Commencement on Friday

Route 322, from Bowe Boulevard to Main Street in Glassboro, will close from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 14, for Rowan University's annual undergraduate Commencement ceremony.

Guests attending Commencement are asked to arrive early for the 10 a.m. ceremony on the University Green. Guests will be directed to Rowan parking lots off Bowe Boulevard and Carpenter Street.

Police will be posted at the Bowe Boulevard and Main Street intersections of Route 322 to divert traffic to Delsea Drive or Carpenter Street. In addition, signs will be posted on Route 322 before the intersections alerting drivers to the upcoming road closure and directing them around the campus.

Motorists not attending graduation should seek an alternate route around the Rowan campus.

Members of the public and the Rowan community can listen to Commencement on Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM. The station will provide live coverage of the ceremony at 10 a.m. Derek Jones and Doug Cohen will host the broadcast, which will include remarks from speaker Lisa P. Jackson, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.

The ceremony also will be broadcast online at wgls.rowan.edu and via cell phone by calling 856-226-7049.

Beginning at 9:45 a.m., a live webcast of the ceremony also will be available on Rowan's web site, www.rowan.edu.
