GLASSBORO Two Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM broadcasts placed second and third in The Broadcast Education Association's (BEA) National Audio Student Competition.

"Code Blue: Keeping Our Students Safe" won second place in the Best Educational Program category. This documentary on campus safety examines the current state of safety at colleges and universities, methods used to maintain and improve these conditions, and recent changes.

The third-place entry for Best Sports Program consisted of highlights of the Rowan University New Jersey Athletic Conference playoff baseball game versus Montclair State University with WGLS-FM sports director Jeff O'Connor, a senior RTF major from Green Brook, and Jim Vassallo, a Marlton resident who graduated last year with his RTF degree.

The awards will be presented during the seventh annual Festival of Media Arts, which will be held in conjunction with the annual BEA convention April 22-25 in Las Vegas.
