Local student band to play Rowan anti-drug concert

GLASSBORO "Take Five," a local band comprised of Gateway Regional High School students, will represent Gloucester County in a statewide music competition at Rowan University.
The event, New Jersey Shouts Down Drugs, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Pfleeger Concert Hall in the university's Wilson Hall.
The competition features high school students from throughout the state who will perform original songs all which have messages to prevent substance abuse.
"Take Five" consists of Gabriel Di Gennaro, Justin Drach, Christopher Lundquist and Scott Purcell. The band will perform its song called "We Have the Power."
The event will be filmed by Comcast and broadcast live on Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS FM. It is organized by the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey and sponsored by Comcast.
The first place winners will have their song professionally recorded to CD, a $5,000 check, and a contract to perform at all state-wide Partnership events.
