GLASSBORO — Rowan Radio’s documentary, “America’s Journey into the Millennium: Reflections of Past, Present & Future,” has been named best radio feature of 1999 by the Society of Professional Journalists and best college production by the New Jersey Associated Press Broadcasters.

The five-part, student-produced series examined sexuality, changing lifestyles, the family unit, higher education and changes in technology as the country approached the new millennium. The programs aired on WGLS-FM 89.7 the week of April 26, 1999.

The series has already received two Crystal Awards of Excellence in the education and best audio categories and has been entered in the SPJ’s national competition.

The series is the sixth Rowan program in seven years to be awarded a first-place in the Best College Production category by the New Jersey Associated Press Broadcasters.
