The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation will honor Rowan Radio Public Affairs Director Kaitlin Kline June 26 at the annual Gracie Awards luncheon in New York City.

Kline, a Journalism and Radio, Television & Film double major, will receive a Gracie in the student competition’s Talk Show category for an episode of her show, A Community Affair. The episode focused on an incident last October involving the on-campus arrest of two unarmed Rowan University students held at gunpoint by Glassboro police.

The show featured audio from a police body camera that recorded during the arrest and interviews with Altif Hassan – one of the two students involved - and Rowan University Student Government Association president Rbrey Singleton.

Kline’s win marks the eighth time a Rowan Radio member has won a prestigious Gracie Award, the latest since 2017.

Formed in 1951, the Alliance for Women in Media was originally called American Women in Radio and Television. The group annual awards program recognizes individual achievement and exemplary programming created by, for, and about women in all facets of media and entertainment.
